AFRAME - Enhanced scene overlay

I am currently exploring ways to implement an overlay menu on top of an A-FRAME scene.

A great example of what I am aiming for can be found on this website ->

By clicking on one of the tiles in the home menu, you will see that the previous scene is moved to the background and additional information appears in the foreground with a semi-transparent overlay.

If anyone could guide me in achieving this effect, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you! Cheers.

Answer №1

Whenever you click on an item, a new entity containing its details will appear closer to the camera.

Simultaneously, a sphere is created around the camera to create a background effect:

<a-sphere id="overlay" radius="2" material="opacity:0.4; color: black; side: back"></a-sphere>

Take a look at it here.
